My Cousin

I know this has been a website for us to update those around us about the baby and how we are doing, but today I want to ask for everyone to pray for those two teenage boys that were struck by a drunk driver on US 31 in Holland, MI. One of them is my cousin, Christian, and the other was his friend Curtis. Please pray for Curtis' family as this young 19 year old boy was killed by this drunk driver and as Christian has a long recovery ahead of him. Its hard to see the purpose in these things when they are so young, and for a long time a purpose may never become clear. Please pray for strength, and recovery as well as peace for both of these families.

Moving Plans in Place

So for all of those that are wondering WHEN the big moving day is going to be, well, some plans are underway. We will be loading up our stuff on Monday July 27th. Yes that is just 5 short weeks from today!! It seems so crazy that the day is so close, but yet feels so far away. Shawn will be driving our car to Michigan, not sure whether I am up for that or if I would rather take a one way flight to Michigan. We are going to have to say goodbye to so many people!! and that will be the hardest part of all. Some packing has started, books and kitchen stuff that we wont need between now and then is all packed away. Will keep everyone updated!!!

Anyone in Holland have any advise on Doctors in the area?? Have to get baby girl Anderson a new doctor unfortunately, since we love our doctor out here. Thanks!!

A House, A Job, and 20 Weeks along!!

Our New Home!!!
Last week tuesday, June 9 we officially closed on our home in Holland, MI. We are excited to start doing some changes to it, to make it our own. The kitchen is perfect, but some changes need to be made to the upstairs and especially to what will be the nursery before any furniture can go into it.

On June 10, the next day Shawn went to a job interview and was officially offered a position at the company he worked for before we moved to California and he is ecstatic.

So yesterday marked my 20 week point, which is HALF WAY. It sounds like 5 months, but since your pregnant for more like 10 months, I actually have 5 months to go. At 18 weeks we had an ultrasound and found out that the baby is a GIRL. We are very excited for this though niether of us had a strong preference either way. I am still feeling pretty good, trying to take it easy with some light walking and exercise. We are now able to feel the kicking from the surface, so that is really awesome to experience.

We are getting ready to start packing as we are moving in about 6 weeks from today. It is all very exciting though we know it will also be a difficult move leaving all of our friends here.

Vacation to Big Sur, San Fran, and Yosemite

So last week Thursday, Shawn and I returned from a long vacation up north in California with my brother and my mom. It was a great time having them in town for my graduation and then being able to see some new sights in CA with them. We drove up north taking Hwy 1, it was beautiful, then stayed in a cabin in Big Sur. It was a nice and relaxing stay in the Redwoods while playing a little yatzee :) . Then on to the city of San Francisco! The trolly's and buses were very entertaining, as well as the very windy and cool weather. After my Mom and Jamie left to go back home, Shawn and I continued on to Yosemite National Park. We stayed in another cabin, saw two bears and did some light hiking. We got to see my cousins baby on the way home too, making a pit stop in Visalia, CA. All in All it was a great trip!
